PATHOLOGY DATA

  
Location: Left lobe.  
   
Gross findings:

Tumor size 3 cm.

Cut section firm and tan.

   
Microscopic findings: Sections show thyroid tissue with follicular architecture. There are follicles of varying sizes with a flattened to cuboidal follicular epithelium. Focal hemorrhage is present, and one area with cholesterol clefts and fibrosis is noted. There is no evidence for a follicular lesion. Thyroid nodules show pushing borders with no evidence of adjacent thyroid infiltration. Features of papillary carcinoma are not identified.
