Gross findings:

Ulcerative lesion, ill demarcated.

Tumor measures 3 cm x 4 cm x 4 cm in diameter.

Cut section is firm and white.

Paragastric lymph nodes: 0.

   
Microscopic findings: Tissue sections show ulcerative lesion of mucosa. Mitotic figures are not evident. The epithelial cells have small, basophilic, irregular nuclei and abundant cytoplasm. Cytoplasm contains much mucin. Nuclear chromatin is coarse with prominent nuclei. The neoplastic cells invade the smooth muscle propria and subserosa. The stroma is infiltrated by numerous lymphocytes, plasma cells, eosinophils and neutrophils.
