PATHOLOGY DATA

 
Location:

Lesser curvature.

 
   
Gross findings:

Ulcerative lesion located at the lesser curvature. Cut section is soft, light yellow, and
hemorrhagic. Ulceration measures 3 x 4 cm in diameter.

   
Microscopic findings: Biopsy shows malignant columnar cells arranged in glands. The malignant cells have clear cytoplasm with vacuoles. Nuclei have irregular nuclear membranes, cytoplasm is granular and vacuolated with large nucleoli. The malignant cells have invaded the gastric wall. There is evidence of mucinous secretion.
