PATHOLOGY DATA

 
Location: Lesser curvature.  
   
Gross findings:

Thick, hard ulceration and fungus at the lesser curvature. Cut section is hard and white.
Ulceration measures 3 cm x 3 cm in diameter. Base is firm and dirty.

   
Microscopic findings:

Biopsy shows malignant columnar cells arranged in glands invading into the muscle. The malignant cells have cytoplasm with vacuoles. There is evidence of mucinous secretion. Nuclei are irregular with large nucleoli. Many monstrous nuclei. The malignant cells have invaded into the gastric wall.
