Microscopic appearance:

Normochromic anisocytosis, bicytopenia.Residual hematopoietic precursors markedly suppressed, but occasional myeloid precursors are present. There is effacement with medium to large sized mononuclear cells of intermediate nuclear cytoplasmic ratio. Plentiful irregularly outlined cytoplasm with fine granules, nucleus having open and lacy chromatin network containing 1-2 nucleoli. Cytoplasm of few cells contain multiple vacuolation but no Auer rods seen. Cellularity more than 90% with reduced fat spaces. No evidence of granuloma or lymphoid aggregate observed.
