Microscopic appearance: Normochromic anisocytosis, pancytopenia. Trilineage hematopoiesis markedly suppressed. The smear is diffusely populated with medium to small sized mononuclear cells with high N/C ratio, scanty granular cytoplasm, nucleus with irregular outline, coarse and clumped nuclear chromatin with inconspicuous nucleoli, cellularity 90% with reduced fat spaces. No evidence of granuloma or excessive fibrosis seen. Reticulin Grade I.
