Microscopic appearance:

Neutrophils and precursors: 22%, lymphocytes: 4%, erythroid precursors 12.5%, eosinophils and precursors: 3%, blasts: 46%. Erythropoiens hypoplastic and normoplastic. Myelopoiesis also hypoplastic showing various stages of maturation and differentiation, predominantly early myeloid precursors. There are a prominent number of abnormal mononuclear cells effacement with medium to small sized cells of high N:C ratio, intermediate, agranular irregular cytoplasm. Nucleus having open nuclear chromatin showing nucleoli. There are few megakaryocytes seen. Cellularity >70% with decreased fat spaces. No evidence of granuloma or excessive fibrotic activity seen. Reticulin Stain: occasional fine individual fibers and foci of a fine fiber network (Grade I).
