PATHOLOGY DATA

 
Location: Ascending Colon.  
   
Gross findings:

Tumor size 5 cm diameter, ulcerative surface.

Cut section is firm, white.

Regional lymph nodes: 8

   
Microscopic findings:

Tissue sections show proliferation of glandular cells. The neoplastic cells have coarse, irregular
nuclei and scanty cytoplasm. The tumor cells are arranged in groups and glands. Mitotic figures
are evident. The tumor cells invaded the muscularis propria, subserosa, and serosa. Lymph nodes
show positive (4/8). Liver shows metastasis.
